Army Captain goes missing in Jammu, J-K police launches hunt

An Army officer has gone missing under mysterious circumstances from here, forcing Jammu and Kashmir Police to launch a hunt to trace him.
"Army officer Captain Chaitanya Bhatwadekar has gone missing here since November 8," Station House Officer, Bus Stand Police Station, Bhushan Singh said.
He said a complaint has been lodged in this direction and police has launched a hunt to trace the 37-year-old Army officer.
Identified as Captain Chaitanya Bhatwadekar, he was arrested by state police in April 2008 on charges of abetting his wife Captain Megha Razdan to commit suicide. Captain Megha's body was found hanging from the ceiling of her room near Kunjwani in July 2007.
Captain, who had gone on leave to his home in Maharastra and left home back for Journey to Jammu for reporting back at his place of posting at Nagrota Army formation but did not report back to duty till now.
A complaint regarding his disappearance was lodged at the Bus Stand Police Station by his father Sanjay Chaitanya Bhatwadekar who had come here from Maharashtra.

As per the complaint filed by his father, the officer had called his home in Maharashtra on mobile phone from Indira Chowk on November 8 and since then his whereabouts are not known.
The SHO said that police has approached mobile service company for getting call details of his mobile phone and also inquired from some army officials in the matter.
"The investigation is going on", the SHO said, adding that a taxi driver, who is reported to have ferried him from railway station, has also been questioned.
