The institute has been named as Jadunath Sainik Institute, after one of Indian Army's war heroes, who has been awarded the Param Vir Chakra.

It will provide a host of facilities under one roof including a restaurant, gymnasium, library, cyber cafe, conference hall and provision for indoor games, a defence spokesman said.

Located near the popular Chaman Vatika Park and Go-karting track, which are daily thronged by families of soldiers, the Institute is the first of its kind in the country in terms of standards and facilities, he said.

Gen Singh, who reached Chandimandir station today on a two day visit, also met Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to discuss various civil-military issues.
