Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat today emphasised on battle focused training to ensure decisive victory over adversaries.
During his visit to the Headquarters 1 Corps at Mathura Military Station today, he appreciated the measures being undertaken to improve operational readiness, an official said.
"Emphasise on battle focused training to ensure decisive victory over our adversaries, Rawat said while interacting with the formation commanders and the officers of 1 Corps.
Earlier, he was received by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command, Lt Gen Cherish Mathson and the General Officer Commanding 1 Corps, Lt Gen Taranjit Singh.
Rawat was briefed extensively on operational preparedness and training activities in the Corps zone by Singh, the official said.
The Army chief was accompanied by his wife Madhulika Rawat, the president of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA).
