General Singh, accompanied by wife Bubbles Singh, were received by Army Commander, South-Western command, Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan.
Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan briefed the Army Chief on the operational preparedness and training activities of the command, defence spokesperson S D Goswami said.
During the visit, Singh interacted with officers of the military station and discussed the challenges facing the army and the collective efforts required in overcoming them.
He emphasised on maintaining a high level of operational readiness to meet any eventuality.
The Army Chief also interacted with ex-servicemen and apprised them of the holistic initiatives being taken for the welfare of veterans, 'Veer Naris' and widows.
Bubbles Singh, President of Central Family Welfare Organisation, met and complimented the families of the Command on the implementation of several innovative welfare schemes.
