A footbridge, constructed by Army to improve connectivity for students in a remote village, was Thursday dedicated to the people in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said.
The school located at village Jaba had requested Army authorities for construction of a footbridge over a stream to ameliorate problems faced by children, the spokesman said.
He said the Army took up the cause and completed the construction of the footbridge over the stream in a week.
The Army also worked to improve the school playground in terms of levelling and marking, the spokesman said adding it would help the children to indulge in sports and recreational activities.
The school management and villagers appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Army for undertaking this task, the spokesman said.
