Army cook held on charges of cheating and marrying four women

A cook in the Army, who was arrested in Delhi on charges of cheating and marrying four women here claiming that he was an officer in the military, was brought to the city for interrogation, police said today.
Police said the women had lodged a complaint in May last stating that the cook, Philip Joseph, claiming that he was an army officer had married them over the last two years.
All the women, with their children, had observed fast some time ago at the district collectorate here, seeking justice.
The complaint was also lodged at the Chief Minister's Cell, following which a special police team was sent to Delhi after getting a definite clue of his whereabouts, they said.
The team met senior military officials who handed over Philip, a native of Periyanaicken Palayam on the city outskirts, and he was brought here,they said.
