Army detains man near LoC

The Army today detained a resident of Uttar Pradesh after he was found roaming near the Line of Control in suspicious circumstances, a police officer said.
The man is identified as 36-year-old Mohammed Junaid, a resident of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and was detained by the Army while roaming near the line of control in suspicious circumstances, the officer said.
He said that after initial questioning by the Army, Junaid was handed over to the local police.
"We checked his credentials from the police in Varanasi which informed us that Junaid is mentally disturbed," he said.
The police have registered a case and initiated further investigation, he added.
