The Indian Army today inaugurated a centre to facilitate nearly 9000 veterans of the force in Gurj division in Pathankote belt of Punjab.
A veteran facilitation centre (VFC), comprising of an e-lobby by the Punjab National Bank (PNB), was inaugurated at Mamun Military Station under the aegis of Gurj division, a defence spokesman said.
The VFC is a platform established by banks to respond to the pension related issues of the veterans and is likely to cater for 9000 ex-members of the force in and around Mamun and Pathankot area, he added.
Maj Gen K Narayanan, General Officer Commanding, The Gurj Divison, was among distinguished military and civil dignitaries present on the occasion.
