General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Nagrota-based 16 Corps of the Army, Lt Gen K H Singh said this at the core group security meeting held at the headquarters of the 16 Corps to take stock of the prevailing security situation south of Pir Panchal in the ten districts of Jammu region.
"The Army is ready to face any challenges that may emerge in the future and is ready to counter it with all its might," Gen Singh said.
Besides Gen Singh the meeting was co-chaired by Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar, IG CID, Inspector General CRPF (J&K Zone), Inspector General CRPF (Jammu Zone), IGP Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Chief Engineer Sampark and DIG from BSF.
The meeting was also attended by several top officials of Army, police, security and intelligence agencies.

A joint strategy was chalked out in great details between all the agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region and ensure incident free environment.
He encouraged all present to overcome contemporary challenges and work towards enhancing confidence among the people.
Gen Singh emphasised the requirement to be vigilant, active and responsive to the developing situation and maintain peace and ensure a peaceful and conducive environment.
The Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar appreciated the role of all security forces in maintaining peace and harmony in the region.
He emphasised on the need for maintaining high level of alertness to beat designs of inimical elements and exhorted all present to continue synergy and coordination at functional level to ensure peaceful atmosphere.
