Indian Army's ASC Col. Gidhari Singh polo team had to be content with a runner-up finish after losing to Rajnigandha Achievers in the title clash at the Cavalry Gold Cup here on Sunday.
The ASC team went down 6.5-12 to the Achievers at the Jaipur Polo Ground here.
The Army side had enjoyed an impressive run in the tournament, defeating several professional teams en route the final.
"Army team getting into the final of this level of competition is huge. We beat some very fancy teams to reach here. These teams have professional polo players and imported horses competing for them," member of the ASC team, Col. GS Pandher said after the match.
The final was followed by the Brig VP Singh Memorial COA Cup. Army chief Bipin Rawat was also present at the event.
