Army sends 23 students on educational tour to north India

A group of 23 students of far-flung areas of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir today embarked on an educational-cum-career counselling tour of north India under the Army's "Operation Sadbhavana".
As part of the tour, the students will visit various historical places such as Lal Qila and India Gate in Delhi, Hawa Mahal, Pushkar Lake, Archaeological Museum and Udaipur City Palace in Rajasthan, a defence spokesman said.
The tour is aimed at providing exposure to the rich cultural heritage and development taking place in our country and instilling a sense of national integration amongst the youth, he said.
The tour named 'Mendhar-Ke-Mehak' was flagged off by Principal, Government Degree College, Mendhar, Shabir Hussain Shah, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo).
