Army Western Command chief reviews security, flood relief ops

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Army's Western Command Lieutenant General K J Singh today reviewed the security situation along the Indo-Pak border and flood relief operations being conducted by the Tiger Division in the border belts of Jammu.
During his visit to Jammu today, Lt Gen Singh interacted with commanders and senior officers of Tiger Division at the Garrison here and took stock of the situation, Defence PRO Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
Major General Dushyant Singh, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Tiger Division, briefed the Army Commander about the present security scenario in the Jammu region, Mehta said.
Tiger Division has flown in 12 tons of relief material to Srinagar till date, and in all 150 tons of relief material has been flown by the Western Command for assistance of the people of the valley, the PRO said.
In addition, to help restore mobile connectivity in the valley, six sets of Ethernet Radios along with personnel have also been pressed into service in the valley, he said.
