Aronofsky, Clooney's films at Venice Film Festival

Director Darren Aronofsky's horror thriller "mother!" and George Clooney's black comedy "Suburbicon" are among the highly anticipated movie to premiere at the 74th Venice Film Festival
Aronofsky has been secretive about "mother!", which stars Jennifer Lawrence. The film is scheduled for release in the US on September 15.
"Suburbicon", starring Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, Josh Brolin, and Oscar Isaac, is a black comedy by Clooney.
Alexander Payne's "Downsizing" is a social satire in which his character agrees to have himself shrunk down in order to live luxuriously in a government resort. The film will open the festival, which runs from August 30 to September 9.
Guillermo Del Toro's Cold War-era fantasy "The Shape of Water",, Andrew Haigh's "Lean on Pete", refugee drama "Human Flow", writer-director Paul Schrader's "First Reformed" are some of the other hotly anticipated titles.
Director Abdellatif Kechiche's "Mektoub, My Love: Canto Uno", a follow-up to "Blue is the Warmest Color", Hirokazu Kore-eda's "The Third Murder", "Hannah" by Andrea Pallaoro, and "Sweet Country" by director Warwick Thornton will also feature in the competition section.
"Victoria and Abdul", a period piece by director Stephen Frears about the real-life friendship between a young Indian Muslim clerk and Queen Victoria, played by Judi Dench and actor Ali Fazal, is screening out of competition.
So is director Ritesh Batra's "Our Souls at Night", starring Hollywood veterans Jane Fonda and Robert Redford.
