Around 1.15 lakh children to be gin text books and uniform
Press Trust of India Puducherry Puducherry government has spent around 12.5 crore for text books and uniforms to all the children in the Union Territory and around 1.15 lakh children would be benefitted by this measure, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said hre today.
He said the books and uniforms would be available from tomorrow when the schools would reopen after summer vacation.
As many as 10,000 young kids in the pre-KG schools would be handed the books which have been prepared by a committee of teachers.
Rangasamy said that the government had already initiated steps to ensure that students passing out of the Class X did not face any difficulty in getting admission to Class XI.
Rangasamy later handed over Rs 6,000 as pension amount to each of the nine senior journalists selected by the government for the payment of the amount.
