ArtDeal auction of modern masters, Rajasthani miniatures

A ceramic bowl by Pablo Picasso, a vessel that became muse of the painter in 1946 ever since he visited the Madoura pottery workshop in France is the star attraction of an upcoming art auction here by ArtDeal.
Drawings and paintings by modern masters like F N Souza, M F Husain, S H Raza, Ram Kumar and Krishen Khanna are the other artworks included in the sale titled "Framed Sentiment," scheduled on September 25, auctioneers said.
Rajasthani miniatures belonging to schools of miniature art such as Nathdwara, Jaipur and Jodhpur are also set to go under the hammer in the same auction.

One miniature depicts the iconic battle of Kurukshetra in Jodhpur style while another Mewar style miniature portrays a wedding scene.
"With the inclusion of miniature paintings, ArtDeal expresses its motive to preserve the rich tangible and intangible cultural inheritance of the country" Siddartha Tagore, Director, ArtDeal auction house.
Works by renowned artists Paritosh Sen, Vivan Sundaram, Zareena Hashmi, Anupam Sud, Shobha Broota, Arpana Caur, Nalini Malani along with two vibrant abstracts works by noted artist Achuthan Kudallur shall also be going under the hammer.
Other contemporary artists like Anindita Bhattacharya, Mousumi Biswas, Shampa Sirkar Das, Shuchi Khanna etc besides photographs and digital works with sculptures in various media of wood, fibre and bronze are also included in the sale.

A viewing of the artworks is open to the public at the ArtDeal Auction House in Hauz Khas Village till September 23.
