Vijayaa feels the stature of music artists has gone down over the years but they should keep insecurities at bay and ply with their heart.
"Earlier the name of the singers used to come before spot boys but today that is not the case. Today our name features after spot boys. I think people must play from heart and not be insecure. Artists are treated as commodities," Vijayaa told PTI.
Raised in Kolkata and Delhi, Vijayaa was initiated into Carnatic vocal training at the age of five.
Talking about "Bankey Ki Crazy Baraat", she said, "It is a nice comedy film but not a slapstick. It is a family film... It is sad that small films don't get pushed much."
"We trusted the label...Thinking they will promote us, but they are not pushing it (the music of the film). We are not promoted doesn't mean we are not good," said Vijayaa, who has sung the famous song "Phir mile sur mera tumhara".
