The government, in a notification yesterday, appointed Nyamar Karbak to the post much before completion of the tenure of the incumbent chairman, which was to end on January 2015.
The labourers under the aegis of All Arunachal Pradesh Workers' Union (AAPWU) today alleged political conspiracy engineered by Lok Sabha MP Takam Sanjoy in removing Sonam who was set to contest the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
"We condemn the state government for the manner in which the new chairman of All Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Constructions Workers Welfare Board (AAPBOCWWB) was appointed overriding the established rules and guidelines," AAPWU working president Changma Tajo said in a press conference here today.
While urging the government to review the decision, the union termed the move as unethical and said it would decide its future course of action soon.
