Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secy asks deptts to cut spending

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi today directed the government departments to cut down administrative expenditure, which will enable the state government to allocate more funds for taking up developmental activities.
Convening the first meeting of the consultation process for preparation of state Budget here for the agriculture and allied departments, Negi advised the departments to modify their requirements and projections based on the discussions and suggestions in the meeting, an official statement said.
The Chief Secretary informed the departments concerned that the state government was committed to give topmost priority to agriculture and allied sectors in view of its scope and importance in the state and would extend all possible support for encouraging productive and research oriented activities.
Negi urged upon the departments to plan their schemes and activities in such a manner which would benefit the people, specially those living in remote areas, the statement said.
The departments highlighted the activities undertaken by them during the last fiscal and also projected their requirements as well as plans and programmes for the current fiscal.
The meeting was attended by the officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Fisheries, Cooperation and Environment and Forest departments, besides officers of the Planning and Finance department.
Discussions with other departments and stakeholders were scheduled to be over in the next one month before finalising the budget and plan document for current financial year, the release added.
