Arunachal Pradesh inks MOU with NABCONS

Planning secretary Ankur Garg representing the state government and Dr P Radhakrishnan, principal representative of NABCONS, signed the MoU in a simple function held at Raj Bhawan here yesterday, official sources said.

The Congress government led by Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has taken several measures to ensure that the fund allocated for each project is utilized judiciously so that the projects are implemented properly as per the specification for reaching out the fruits of development at the grassroots, the sources said.

Arunachal Pradesh is the first one in the country to implement the concept of Third Party Monitoring which has been lauded by the Planning Commission. The Third Party Monitoring was entrusted to NABCONS and NEDFi for monitoring of SPA 2008-09 & 2009-10 and BADP projects for the year 2009-10.

The 3rd party monitoring of BADP for the year 2009-10 is underway and monitoring of SPA 2008-09 & 2009-10 has been completed and the reports are under assessment at varying stages.
