"The legacy of four-and-half-year BJP rule in Karnataka has been systemic corruption, instability and a game of glass and mirros. We hope that when Karnataka goes to polls early next year, this entire legacy will be kept in mind by the people of Karnataka," party spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters.

Tewari said Congress is the only party which can put the state on growth tragectory and appealed to people to bring his party to power in the next assembly elections.

The Congress spokesperson's remarks came on a day when the crisis in the BJP government in Karnataka today reached a flash point with nine ministers loyal to state party strongman B S Yeddyurappa resigning and bracing for a show of strength in their campaign for ousting Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda.

In a critical turn to the festering crisis, eight ministers met Gowda and handed over their resignation letters, seeking to put pressure on the BJP central leadership which has so far refused to entertain their demand.
