ASA activists led by its state convenor Sonaram Soren staged the demonstration demanding a domicile policy based on language, culture and caste of the tribal community.
Addressing the gathering, Soren described the domicile policy as the soul of the Adivasi community.
Appreciating the Raghuvar Das-led state government for its seriousness on the issue, he said it was unfortunate that some of its allies have advocated of declaring November 15, 2000, the day Jharkhand state was formed, as the cut off year for the proposed policy.
"By demanding November 15, 2000 as the cut-off year, the anti-domicile forces are now trying to grab three lakh government jobs," he alleged.
Accusing the main opposition party JMM of lacking a clear stand on the issue, he said JMM had been misled the tribals on the policy.
