"Thailand is the only country that will see the rally passing two times," Indian ambassador to Thailand, Anil Wadhwa told PTI.
The rally is being held to mark the 20th anniversary of ties between India and the 10-member Asean grouping and the drivers will enter India on December 20 coinciding with the meet of Asean leaders in New Delhi.
A total of 31 Mahindra cars will cross the border from Malaysia as the rally is set to start from Yogyakarta, Indonesia on November 26 and head north to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos.
The drivers will then re-enter Thailand before crossing into Myanmar and then ending in India on December 20.
In Malaysia, the rally will be flagged off by Prime Minister Najib Razak at the Putra Square, in the administrative capital of Putrajaya on November 28.
"There is a first stopover in Hat Yai in Thailand where the government plans a large reception and on December 2, Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Indian Commerce Minister Anand Sharma will flag off the rally in Bangkok," Wadhwa said.
