Ashok Leyland, Managing Director, Vinod K Dasari told reporters that the company would hand over the first lot of 30 such buses out of an order of 449 to the West Bengal government, which would be the first state to recieve it.
"The delivery of "Jan Bus" is under the JNNURM scheme and a total of 1600 buses would be delivered in phases to a few states. We have patented 24 features of these buses which are completely indigenously developed," he said.
Out of the 449 Jan buses to be delivered to the West Bengal government, 140 will be airconditoned.
