"Tanwar was attacked because he is a Dalit leader. Congress has always harboured anti-Dalit sentiments. Tanwar should quit such a party," he told reporters here.
The state Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes minister was reacting to the October 6 attack on Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar after a scuffle broke out between his and Hooda's supporters.
The incident had brought to the fore the differences between different factions of the party and is likely to have political repercussions. The faction headed by Hooda is seeking the ouster of Tanwar as Pradesh Congress chief.
