Ashwamedh Royals lift NPL soccer title in Nagpur

Ashwamedh Royals overcame Tajshree Indians 4-3 via tie-breaker to lift the Nagpur Premier League (NPL) football title here last night.
The fourth edition of the tournament, played at Yeshwant Stadium, was sponsored by Adani-Lokmat.
The final match ended in a 1-1 draw in the stipulated period. During the tie-breaker, Ashwamedh got better of Tajshree to lift the title, which made them richer by Rs 1.50 lakh.
The runners-up received Rs 75,000.
The coveted man of the tournament title and the golden boot was presented to Aboo Baker of Meghe United.
Union Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel was the chief guest at the concluding function, where Chairman of Lokmat Group of Newspapers Vijay Darda gave away the prizes.
