Former Trinamool Congress leader Asif Khan's wife Tabassum today lodged a complaint with a city police station alleging that the Bidhannagar police, who had arrested him, conducted a search operation at her residence last night without any warrant.
In her complaint with the Beniapukur police station, she alleged that the Bidhannagar police applied force on her husband to make him sign on a blank paper, besides continuing physical torture on him in the cell.
"I am afraid of threat to life to my husband, myself, my child and other family members as the Bidhannagar police personnel are resorting to terror tactics on us in a planned manner," she said.
"When they entered my house late last night, I tried to resist them saying that my daughter is sick. Still they forcibly entered, conducted search operation without any search warrant and even ventured inside my daughter's room," she said.
Meanwhile, an FIR has also been lodged at the same police station against Tabassum and her family members by the Bidhannagar police Commissionerate authority for causing disturbances in their investigaion.
Khan, who had lashed out at a section of the party leadership and accused them of being involved in the Saradha chitfund scam, was arrested on November 6 by Bidhannagar Police for his alleged involvement in a cheating case.
Khan was a member of the Trinamool Congress till last month, but quit the party accusing a section of its leadership of being involved in the Saradha chitfund scam.
The special crime branch of CBI had also grilled Asif Khan, who was the editor of a Bengali daily 'Aajker Kalom', in connection with the Saradha scam.
