Assailants stab to death shopkeeper in Kamla mkt, two arrested

A 25-year-old shopkeeper has been stabbed to death allegedly by five to six assailants in central Delhi's Kamla Market area when he resisted their robbery bid, police said today.
"Two accused, identified as Adil and Rehan, both in their mid-twenties have been arrested while efforts are on to nab their remaining accused. The weapon of offence in the case, a knife has also been recovered," said DCP (Central) Parmaditya.
The incident which was caught on CCTV cameras installed in the lane, took place last night around 11:00 PM when the victim identified as Rahil Usmani, had returned home from his shop in Noida.
As he parked his car near his home in Kamla Market area in central Delhi, the assailants attacked him and tried to snatch his mobile and wallet.
When Usmani tried to resist their bid, one of them attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon and stabbed him several times. They then robbed his bag which contained a laptop, wallet and mobile phone and fled, police said.
However, a passerby informed police that a man was attacked by some miscreants. Some policemen rushed to the spot and nabbed two of them while the other attackers ran away.
The victim was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Police said the other attackers have also been identified on footage of CCTV cameras installed at the spot. The accused are the residents of same area and they too with be arrested soon.
Police has also recovered the robbed mobile and wallet in the case. A case of murder and robbery has been registered in this connection.
