Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary laid the Rules Committee's proposal for the new timings at the Assembly.
As per the procedure, he gave the House seven-day time for the amendment. However, all the members, including opposition Congress and AIUDF, readily agreed to the proposal.
"As everyone has agreed to the proposal, we can start the new timing from tomorrow," Patowary said.
Speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass then announced acceptance of the new timings by the House and said from now on the Assembly will commence from 9.30 AM from tomorrow instead of 9 AM, and conclude at 2 PM against 1.30 PM.
Yesterday, Dass had said the employees of the Assembly were finding it difficult to complete their domestic duties like dropping children to schools and so it was decided to slightly change the time.
"Moreover, the deadline to receive Zero Hour notice is 8 PM, leaving very less time for preparation by ministers. So now the new timing will give 30 minutes more to them as the deadline remains the same," Dass said.
