Sonowal has urged government officials and employees based in Delhi to work with dedication for the well being of the people of the state.
Interacting for the first time with officials and employees of Assam Bhawan, Assam House and other departments based in Delhi last evening, Sonowal said both the houses in the national capital represent life, ethos and culture of the state.
He exhorted upon the officials and employees to work with sincerity, devotion and dedication in the service of the people of Assam, said a government release here today.
"The people come here for treatment, education, business, official and other important works. Hardly 5 to 10 per cent come here as tourists. We must look after them with care and concern and extend warm hospitality during their stay here," he said.

Sonowal said both the houses have come up with public money and the officials and employees working here must accommodate the hopes and aspirations of the people, particularly the poor segments of society.
"These houses are Assam's pride and glory and the officials and employees working here have to play significant roles in carrying forward the rich legacy.
Sonowal also asked the officials and employees to maintain cleanliness in line with Prime Minister's Swacch Bharat Abhijan.
He also asked the officials and employees to work according to government's agenda and policies and not with any political agenda.
"If you toe the Government's agenda and policies so far so good, otherwise you will have to face the music," Sonowal quipped and assured the officials and employees that he would listen to their problems and redress them as soon as possible.
