According to a Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) report, around 13,200 people were bearing the brunt of floods in Lakhimpur, Barpeta, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Karimganj districts.
Till yesterday, 23,000 people had been suffering due to the floods in nine districts.
Altogether 79 people, including eight in Guwahati, have lost their lives in flood-related incidents.
The ASDMA said 51 villages are under water at present and over 3,100 hectares of crop area is inundated.
The deluge has marooned 4,600 people in Lakhimpur. 4,400 have been hit in Golaghat.
The flood waters have damaged many roads, embankments and bridges in several districts.
Currently, the Dhansiri river is flowing above the danger level mark at Numaligarh in Golaghat.
