Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today directed officials that Rs five crore be given from the state government for the people affected by unprecedented flood in the northern state, the spokesman told PTI.
Meanwhile, Assam's Additional Director General of Police (Vigilance and Anti Corruption) Rajkumar Chandranathan has reached Jammu and Kashmir to render assistance to the people of Assam stranded in that state, the spokesman said.
Chandranathan, who would be camping at Srinagar, has informed the state government here that there was no report of casualty of people from Assam so far, he said.

The Control Room has received enquiries from family members of 121 personnel of various Government agencies working in J-K and also from family members of 46 tourists who are stranded there, the spokesman said.
