Calling it one of the greatest festivals of the followers of Islam, the Governor said in a statement that it brings to an end the fasting season of the holy month of Ramzan and marks the beginning of the promotion of peace, prosperity and brotherhood amongst the human race.
Acharya has appealed to all to observe the festival in "the true spirit of celebration, irrespective of religious barriers, in an atmosphere of peace and by exchanging feelings of fraternity, trust and goodwill among all".
