Assam govt committed to revitalise ATCL

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said the state government is committed to revitalise the Assam Tea Corporation Limited (ATCL).
The Chief Minister said there was a need to revitalise the ATCL to pursue its objectives more vigorously and to lend life to sick tea gardens, an official release said here.
Gogoi chaired a meeting of ministers and senior officials and discussed several issues linked with the ATCL and emphasised on evolving a strategy for the Corporation.
He also reviewed the problems faced by garden workers and said the needful would be done to solve the problems.
"We will do all possible to solve the problems of tea garden labourers and will jointly formulate a strategy to revive sick tea gardens in the state," he said.
Minister for Environment and Forest and Tea Tribe Welfare, Atuwa Munda, minister for Water Resources and Scheduled Caste Welfare, Basanta Das, Chief Secretary V K Pipersenia, Additional Chief Secretaries R T Jindal and Shyam Lal Mewara along with other senior officials were present at the meeting.
