"There's no fund crunch as it is made out to be. The state government has adequate funds to continue with the implementation of various health schemes," he said in a statement here.
Besides the ongoing schemes, a number of new schemes are in the process of being launched for the welfare of the people, especially the poor and needy sections of the society,
A people-friendly scheme under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme aims at providing health facilities and services to BPL and other economically weaker sections of the society while schemes like Arogya Nidhi, Sneha Sparsha, Congenital Heart Disease Scheme and Susrusha will continue to be implemented vigorously, Gogoi said.
In the Congenital Heart Disease scheme, Rupees six crore has been allocated in this year's budget with 4,464 children attending eight screening camps of which 3,188 had been selected for surgery and 2,665 children have been sent for treatment till April 2015, the statement added.
