Assam govt hikes DA of employees

Assam government today said it has increased the Dearness Allowance of its employees at the rate of one per cent with effect from July 1, 2017.
"The Government of Assam has enhanced the rate of Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief of the state government employees and the pensioners at the rate of 1 per cent with effect from July 1, 2017," an official release said.
Now the existing rate of DA/DR per mensem will be 5 per cent of the basic pay/basic pension, it added.
"The current enhanced rate of 5 per cent DA/DR will be paid along with monthly pay/pension from the month of November, 2017," the statement said.

It said the arrear DA/DR will be paid in a single instalment to the employees/pensioners.
