Assam Govt issues guidelines for CM security

The Assam government today issued guidelines to ensure strict security arrangements in official programmes attended by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the invitation of various departments and agencies.
Security threat is a serious concern and as such thorough inspection of adjoining areas and situation analysis needs to be ensured in order to avoid any untoward incident, an official release said here today.
During the visit of the Chief Minister to any district, the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police should personally administer all arrangements of accommodation and required facilities, the release said.
After obtaining prior consent, a tentative minute to minute programme shall be prepared by the department/agency concerned in coordination with the Chief Minister's Office well ahead and submit to the CMO for approval.
The route map should be ascertained properly so that the shortest and minimal time can be utilised for traversing/ navigation.
Information about the availability of helipads along with latitude and longitude coordinates should be provided, while fire fighting equipment and medical facilities should be made available at helipads, the release said.

Medical team, fire fighting team and installation of telephones/WiFi facility in the meeting places and halting places should be ensured.
Due to enormous demand on the time of the Chief Minister, no programme should exceed one hour unless approved by the Chief Minister.
Not more than two persons shall speak or deliver addresses before the Chief Minister.
The local MLA/MP concerned of the district must be informed of the Chief Minister's programme in the districts, the release added.
