Assam govt takes initiatve to improve police administration

Inaugurating a workshop here on 'Training need Analysis of Assam Police'', organised for the first time in the state, IGP (Training of Assam Police) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta said a series of training programme would be held for improving skill, knowledge and better relations with the public.

"The workshop aims to improve the sense of duty and social responsibility", he added.

More than hundred police personnel from Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Darrang and Udalguri districts under the DIG, Northern Assam Range.

More such workshops among police personnel would be held in other parts of Assam in the future, he said.

Senior police personnel from Assam have attended a series of training programmes organised by the National Police Academy, Hyderabad and they in turn would impart training to police personnel in the state and evolve ideas for improvement and modernisation of Assam police within the next five years, Mahanta added.
