A five-member Bangladeshi delegation, headed by Director General of land, record and survey Mohd Abdul Mannan and Assam government officials carried out a land survey in the Boroibari sector for the proposed land swap deal signed between the two countries on September 6, 2011.
The Indian delegation along with their Bangladeshi counterparts would conduct a similar survey on the Bangladesh sector at Sherpur in Kurigram district today.
India had agreed to hand over 499.43 acres of land in Karimganj district to Bangladesh under the deal.
"People of Assam were opposed to the transfer of its land to Bangladesh and it was indeed deplorable that the state government was hosting a Bangaldeshi delegation in this connection," a press release said here today.
The AGP will not tolerate or allow Assam's land to be handed over to Bangladesh, but if the government goes ahead with the deal, then both Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi would be declared anti-nationals, the release said.
