"The BTC, headed by Hagrama Mohilary, should be immediately dissolved as there is total breakdown of law and order and it has failed to protect the lives and properties of people," All India United Democratic Front chief and MP Badruddin Ajmal said in a letter to the prime minister.
He also demanded scrapping of the Bodoland Autonomous Treaty as it was against the interest of the non-Bodos in trouble-torn Bodoland Territorial Administered District (BTAD).
The party, which submitted a memorandum to Singh, also demanded immediate seizure of illegal arms and ammunition kept by surrendered Bodoland Liberation Tigers (BLT), NDFB and other militant groups with them and also licensed arms with civilians.
The party demanded adequate security to Muslims and other non-Bodos who are still in BTAD areas.
Ajmal also demanded setting up of relief camps with adequate facilities like food, medicines and other essential items for victims in different areas of Dhubri, Kokrajhar and Chirang under security and to keep proper records of inmates.
He also demanded that the authorities should ensure safe return of victims to their homes and their rehabilitation and provide adequate compensation within a week.
