An Assamese youth preparing for CAT examination has allegedly gone missing from Bangalore under mysterious circumstances.
Joydeep Paul (23) went missing on November 10 from a private accommodation where he was staying while preparing for the prestigious management examination.
A resident of Karimganj in Assam, his father Vivekananda Paul told PTI, "The owner of the hostel saw him last during the evening of November 10. After that, neither we nor anyone in the hostel got any communication from Joydeep."
The parents, who are at present camping in Bangalore, had last spoken to their son three days prior to he going missing.
"We do not know whether it is a case of kidnapping or escape (by the youth). He had in fact asked for Rs 10,000 during our last communication and we sent that money. However, he did not withdraw it from the bank," the father said.
Joydeep had completed his BTech from the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli in 2011.
