WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange today lost his appeal to overturn arrest warrant issued against him by the UK.
Westminster Magistrates' Court ruled that the arrest warrant against Assange is still valid.
Lawyers for the WikiLeaks founder asked the court to withdraw the warrant, saying it had "lost its purpose", the BBC reported.
The warrant was issued in 2012 after the 46-year-old Australian national allegedly breached bail conditions by seeking asylum in Ecuador's London embassy, where he has remained.
He had been facing extradition to Sweden to answer sex assault claims but these have since been dropped.
