Assistant Chief of Air Staff meets Odisha Chief Minister

Air Vice Marshal O P Tiwari, Assistant Chief of Air Staff, called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here today and briefed him about the steps taken to recruit youths of the state into Indian Air Force.
He was accompanied by Air Commodore RS Mehndiratta, President, Central Airmen Selection Board. The two officers also visited No 9 Airmen Selection Centre, Bhubaneswar, an official release said.
The AVM apprised Patnaik on special recruitment drive that is being organised by the IAF at Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi from December 14 to 20, to enhance representation from the Western regions of Odisha which is quite low as compared to other regions.
The AVM also discussed with Patnaik harnessing the potential of ex-servicemen towards societal development and how they could be gainfully utilised by the state towards skill development of the young rural population.
