A female voter, stated to be 121 years' old, cast her vote in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir in the first phase of polling.
District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner of Ramban Farooq Ahmad Shah told PTI that 121-year-old Noor Bibi of Kabbi village cast her vote at the Kabbi polling station this afternoon.
She was carried by her family members to the polling station.
As per her family members, she has never missed a single occasion to vote, even at the time when guns dictated the politics of separatism in Ramban district.
Noor Bibi has taken part in the polling since 1957 when the process of elections began in Jammu and Kashmir, a relative said.
Nearly 70 per cent of 86,161 voters have exercised their franchise in Ramban Assembly segment, which went to polls along with 14 other Assembly constituencies of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions today.
