Environment protection is a collective responsibility and everybody needs to identify their role towards it, said Dr Pamposh Kumar, senior scientist, department of Science and Technology.
Youth should come forward for environment conservation and identify their role and generate awareness for the same in the society, said Dr Afroz Ahmed, environmentalist and member of Narmda Control Authority.
The festival was being organised by NGO Girijan Swaachik Sansthan in collaboration with National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC).
Human beings have exploited the resources of nature and now the society needs to be made aware of the same so that these can be conserved, he said.

Paintings themed on environment conservation by artist Sunil Jhagid, Hari Narayan Bhati and Laxmi Sharma received the first three prizes in that order in painting competition.
The two-day event was inaugurated on Saturday by Bundi district collector Naresh Kumar Thakaral.
The event was attended by Dr KC Noriyal, former director of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Dr Juliya Dutta, environmentalist, and others.
