Blaming the hectic scheduling, Atletico de Kolkata marquee manager Antonio Habas today said the players were tired as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League here today.
The result brought an end to their two-match winning run.
"Many players were tired since we played on Sunday then on Thursday and then again today. We are playing three matches in eight days in different venues. For us it's round three, while for Delhi it's round two," lamented the Spanish manager at the post-match media interaction.
It was once again a day for a second red card in as many matches for ATK as Rakesh Masih was sent off after a double booking, similar to the way Borja Fernandez got the marching order against NorthEast United FC on Thursday.
"The rule says they can't do but if the referee decides then yes, he's the person to decide on the field. Today they gave a red card to Masih like in the last match to Borja. He's the person to decide and take the decision. We cant help it."
Habas however said he was happy with the result and praised the boys for creating chances.
"I'm very satisfied with the players. We created many chances, playing against a good team. It's a long league."
Asked whether they missed Borja, he said: "We play as a team on the field.
