At least seven ATM machines were damaged by miscreants in a failed bid to extract money from them in Assam's Sonitpur district.
According to police officials, seven ATM machines of different banks were smashed by the miscreants in and around Tezpur town last night.
Police said the machines belonged to HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, PNB and Allahabad Bank, but the miscreants failed to take away any cash.
No arrest has been made yet and police investigation is on, the official said.
