Attack on SHO: Policeman sent to lines, advocates on strike

The Station House Officer of Faridabad police station Bhartender Singh, who was allegedly attacked by a group of men two days ago, was today sent to police lines after district income tax lawyers went on strike accusing the police official of falsely framing two of their members in the attack.
Two days ago, Singh was manhandled by a group of around 25 men in the police station when he tried to mediate a matter in the police station.
11 people, including Rajesh and Adesh, were arrested after additional force was called in to control the situation.
To protest against the police action the Faridabad Bar Association declared a strike yesterday.
President of District Tax Bar Association, Advocate J P Adana said the police has falsely framed two of their bar members, Rajesh Baisla and Adesh Baisla, and demanded immediate suspension of SHO and DCP of the area.
Adana said the strike would be continued till the action was taken against the erring police officials and the expense of treatment of the men injured in the lathi charge by the police were reimbursed.

Following which the SHO was sent to 'Line Hazir', said Inspector Vimal, who has been given the charge of Faridabad Police Station.
He also said that all those arrested were released on bail.
Meanwhile, Bar Council Punjab and Haryana termed the strike as illegal and demanded police to provide security to those lawyers who wanted to attend the court.
In his letter to District and Sessions Judge Indrajeet Mehta Sharma, O P Sharma, Chairman Enrolment Committee, Bar Council Punjab and Haryana, said that the strike call by the district bar association was in violation of the instructions of Supreme Court.
He said, he has consulted Chairman of Bar Council Punjab and Haryana Rakesh Gupta and has been advised that striking advocates would be facing disciplinary action by the Bar Council.
Sharma said that he has also met the Police Commissioner Faridabad Subhash Yadav requesting him to provide security to the advocates interested in resuming the work.
