an ATM of a nationalised bank here, police said today.
The incident at the ATM attached to the Thindal branch of Indian Overseas Bank came to light this morning when its Manager came for duty and found the cash-loaded machine tampered with.
The manager immediately alerted the police who rushed to the spot and conducted preliminary enquiries.
The culprit had entered the ATM kiosk after disconnecting the electricity and tried to break the machine, but failed, police said adding that it was functioning without a security guard.
Finger prints had been collected from the crime scene and police were verifying the CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the culprit.
