In the first ever thriller by a woman director, Glamour, starring Parambrata-Parno Mitra touches the dark alleys of human psyche pitting the critically acclaimed pair of Apur Panchali in the web of crimes.
Parambrata, having made his third directorial venture days back, said, "From Protagonist to Antagonist, my character Aryan Chatterjee straddles across more than one zone.
"But there is negativity more pronounced," the crime-buster Kolkata Police inspector in 'Kahaani' said.
Director Mohua Chakroborty, apparently not happy to be described as a woman director attempting a thriller, said, 'Glamour' was all about the all-pervasive darkness of soul of 'Greed, Anger, Lust, Murder, Rage.
"The success of thrillers like Srijit Mukherjee's 'Baishe Srabon' emboldened me as Bengali audiences are known to be the afficionado of different thriller genre flicks," the debutant feature director said.
Parno, having portrayed two different characters in the film, confirmed it was like revisiting parts of the 'Ranjana Ami Aar Asbona' debut work by Anjan Dutta which also had darker sides though plot-wise 'Glamour' was a full-fledged thriller.
Having musical scores of Silajit and Raghab Chatterjee, Glamour has a fusion classical bandish with Tilary raag sung by entrepreneur Nilakhi Roy and Raghab.
The film, produced by Orion Entertainments, has no bearing with the Madhur Bhandarkar flick in Bollywood, Mohua said.
