Jose endorsed his father's statement that there were "covert and overt attempts" in the bar bribery episode, which led to Mani's resignation from the state cabinet.
"There were many who wanted to write-off Kerala Congress- M. But they have been disappointed which is evident from the rousing welcome Mani received from many places while he was returning to his hometown Pala from the state capital on Friday after his resignation," he told reporters in Kottayam.
He alleged there were deliberate interference in creating circumstances leading to Mani's ignominious exit from Oommen Chandy-led government but did not disclose any name.
"That you should investigate and find out," he said when asked who all are involved in targeting the KC-M.

His remarks come a few days after the 82-year-old Mani alleged political conspiracy behind his ouster.
However, he too has so far not revealed names of people who were allegedly involved in the conspiracy.
Mani, the senior most legislator in the cabinet, had to quit on November 10 from the cabinet after the high court made some stinging observations in the bar bribery scam, in which he is facing charges of accepting Rs one crore bribe for renewal of licences for hotels attached with liquor bars.
